Have things really gotten this bad?

An unfriendly foreign power meddles in our elections, and we all seem to be angrier at the opposite party than we are at them.

Dudes and dudesses, the Russians are the people to be angry with here.

And if this is the way Donald "America First" Trump responds to the undermining of our national sovereignty, we're in for a long four years.

Given the revelations concerning his debts, the publicity being given his bizarrely blended personal, campaign and corporate finances, and his eyebrow-raising choice of Vladimir Putin's best American friend to be Secretary of State, a certain amount of defensiveness on Mr. Trump's part is understandable. But especially a president-elect who ran on a nationalist platform really ought to be a little more upset when the country is treated so disrespectfully, even it is by his beau ideal.

Come to think of it, the Avion quote has a lot more to say. Without the hyper-partisanship it refers to, we would not have been left with the choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump last month, and we would probably have elected a president who is actually qualified for the job.
