Trump says he doesn't need daily intelligence briefings as POTUS because he's "smart."

Every morning the President of the United States receives a briefing from the nation's intelligence agencies on the state of the world and developments in the past 24 hours. Common sense, right?

Perhaps. But it seems that our new president doesn't have common sense. Donald Trump says that he doesn't need those briefings because "I'm smart."

No, sir. You are not. And that's a big part of the problem. You think you are, but you are not.  For someone as ignorant as you are to refuse briefings which every president in recent history- men much smarter and more knowledgeable about the world than you are- only provides greater evidence of that fact.

I grow increasingly confident that Donald Trump will be impeached precisely because he thinks he's so smart- and he isn't. He's used to getting away with almost anything if he simply lies about it. If you recall, he even bragged during the campaign for the nomination that his supporters wouldn't desert him even if he committed murder in broad daylight on Fifth Avenue in Manhatten. He has played fast and loose with the law for years, and seems to believe that he can get away with anything if he simply lies about it.

He's wrong. Not with the hottest spotlight on Earth shining on him 24/4.

I'll repeat the prediction: if we survive that long, Donald Trump will either be impeached and convicted by a Congress of his own party or forced to resign before he can complete his first term.
