CNN poll: Obama ahead nationally, but Romney leads in 'battleground states'

What do Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin have in common?

They're all CNN-identified "battleground states" in this year's presidential election.

According to a new CNN/ORC International poll, Gov. Romney leads President Obama in them, 51% to 43%. Even more interesting, the same poll shows the president leading nationally, 49% to 46%.

Both polls are surveys of registered rather than likely voters, and thus have a slight Democratic bias. Usually a greater percentage of Republicans than Democrats actually vote.
