Thank you, Mr. President, for invading Iraq!

More on that inept election eve hit piece on the Bush administration by The New York Times that backfired so badly.

The theory behind building an atomic bomb is not complicated; a high-school student famously designed one that would have worked back in the Sixties, from publicly available information. And this well before the Internet! Common sense indicates that that those captured Iraqi documents displayed on that U.S. government website posed little if any security risk.

Well, here are the facts about the IAEA and that website that got taken down- the one with all those interesting documents the MSM has been ignoring, as well as information on the building of atomic weapons readily available elsewhere.

But the New York Times' inadvertent admission that Saddam Hussein had a covert nuclear program at the time of the invasion that could have produced an atom bomb within a relatively short period is perfectly accurate. Nor is the evidence to that effect limited to the captured Iraqi documents displayed on the website. No less a source than Iraq's foreign minister admitted after his capture that Saddam had an aggressive nuclear weapons program at the time of the invasion- and could have developed nuclear weapons within 18-24 months of obtaining fissionable material- material which wouldn't have been all that difficult to come by once the sanctions were lifted.

I can only join Little Green Footballs in thanking President Bush for preventing that disaster for America and for the world by invading Iraq.

Will this information- brought to light as a result of yet another botched election eve hit piece on the Bush administration by the MSM (do you see a pattern here? or would you Rather not?) ever be reported in the MSM?

You've got to be kidding.

Here, btw, is a captured Taliban document (in PDF) that is also very interesting. Conservative bloggers have been discussing it for months; I wonder why the Senate committee didn't take it into account, and why the MSM hasn't mentioned it.

Well, maybe not on that second one.

It's a warning that the United States had learned of a conspiracy between Saddam and Osama bin Laden to stage terrorist attacks within the United States, and expresses the fear that we might attack both Afghanistan and Iraq as a result! The translation is by Omar of Iraq the Model.

Here is the reaction of Rep. Peter Hoekstra, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, to the NYT allegations.

Michelle Malkin, btw, is amused that The New York Times is suddenly worried about national security being compromised by dangerous disclosures!
