A good day on the diamond!
Mark Prior is back (one hit in six innings- type back!)- and the Cubs made it two in a row over the White Sox.
Meanwhile, the Pirates beat the Cardinals in twelve innings!
On the same day, we beat the Pale Hose and pick up a game on the division leaders!

Not that it matters in the long run. I don't think we'll re-sign him. It's not just a question of his chronic injuries, either. Ronny Cedeno is hitting .381 in Triple A, and he's as smooth a fielder as they come.
Nomar's salary can be spent rebuilding the bullpen. But Neifi has been pretty special as a fill-in, and with the choice of Nomar, Todd Walker, and Neifi (pick two) in the middle of the infield, we may yet make a race of this thing.
Of course, Corey has to either develop some plate discipline or be replaced. And he has to break out of his slump.
