Congrats to Derrek

Derrek Lee of the Cubs was the National League's leading vote-getter, and will start the All-Star Game at first base.

Whatever else may happen this season, Lee finally learning to go the opposite way with inside pitches has effectively eliminated his one major weakness as a hitter, and resulted in one of the most memorable performances in baseball history from him so far this year. I expect many more from him in years to come.

Fans of the first base runner-up, the Cardinals' Albert Pujols, needn't fret; he will doubtless be the NL's Designated Hitter.
