Three straight losses

I'll take the wild card if it comes, but my heart won't be in it.

The wild card is for the loser with the best record. Wild card winners should not be allowed to compete for the world championship; they haven't earned the right in the single most valid test- the regular season. Nor, in the case of the Cubs, should they want to. Losing isn't the way to shake off a legacy of losing.
