The Cubs' dwindling hopes of becoming the National League loser with the best record (i.e., winning the Wild Card) depend on sweeping the series with the 'Stros that begins tonight.

We lose one game, and it's time to look forward to a 2006 season, hopefully with a new manager and a significant revamping of the roster.

Interesting comment on the MLB site on tonight's game: "If the Cubs played only the Cardinals, they would win the Central Division."
