Martin's really beating the anti-American drum
Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin really seems to think that anti-Americanism is the key to electoral success in his bid for another term.
He's blaming the U.S. for increasing gun violence in Canada.
Whatever one thinks of American gun laws, might a Liberal inability to manage an increase in the kind of social problems which cause violence not also provide at least a partial explanation? And if Martin's Liberal government has failed so miserably in keeping Yankee shootin' irons out of the Dominion, isn't that, too, an argument against another Liberal government, rather than for one?
Either way, Paul Martin, it seems to me, might benefit from remembering that he's the incumbent in this race! Why, after all, would Canadians want to return a government so inept in protecting their nation from the baleful influence of that nation of gangsters and cowboys to the south?
