To the other cultures of the world, there is something deeply alien about the absolute secularism that is developing in the West. They are convinced that a world without God has no future. Multiculturalism itself thus demands that we return once again to ourselves. --Benedict XVI

I can only add one thing: I wonder whether the secular Left recognizes how much that 'absolute secularism' contributes to the alien, inhuman, and threatening face the Islamic world sees when they look at the West.

Not looking for excuses for the Islamofascists, mind you. But a point worth pondering.
