Wictory Wednesday: The woman who's running against John Murtha
This week Wictory Wednesday is on behalf Diana Irey's candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. A picture of her opponent is to the left.
That's right. Diana is running against ex-Marine turned cut-and-run advocate Rep. John Murtha, self-appointed judge and jury of the Haditha troops and voice of the Iraqi insurgency in Congress. Do I really have to explain why this guy needs to be replaced?
It seems that old John has gotten ambitious of late. If the Democrats re-take the House this November, he plans to run for Majority Leader.
Diana Irey served for ten years as a County Commissioner in Washington County, and has also served on a number of other county boards and commissions. She's helped bring jobs to Washington County and fiscal discipline to local government. She supports not only lower taxes but also lower government spending. While Murtha's campaign seems to be all about how to lose the Iraq War as quickly and efficiently as possible, Irey is an advocate of victory in Iraq and advocates treating our fighting men and women there as the heroes they are, not in pre-judging them as criminals.
Diana is not a beltway bureaucrat; she has served only in local offices until now. She will not only bring a local perspective to a seat that is held by an individual caught up in advancing his own national profile, but she will support balanced budgets and fiscal restraint.
