Here's what's wrong with conservatism as an ideology- and why it isn't the answer to our problems.

Yes, that's what I said.

That's exactly where we are. Excellent commentary--pretty much says what my gut's been trying to tell me for years now.
Don't know of any answer to it, besides Have No Fear, Little Flock.

Organshoes, I too don't think there is any answer to it, except the one you gave.

Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. Matt 8:24-26

Storm clounds sure seem to be on the horizion, and more than one wave may sweep over the boat before it's over...

By the way, have you read that book of Farah's? You could have had my copy except I unfortunately pitched it recently.

Not yet, but I may well.

I suspect, btw, despite my faith in God, that He may have just a few other things in mind for us to do- and that Farah might agree. Looking forward to that second post of his.

The only thing I wanted to point out in the Matthew quotation in the phantom comment was that Jesus can calm storms.

I don't suggest doing nothing, but I do think "taking America back" is the wrong approach. He is mainly talking about taking American government back, which is not effective in the long term. If American government is indeed taken back, and the American moral fiber is still fundamentally corrupted, the new government will be soon corrupted as well.

America will only really change if the people change.

Our goal needs to be precisely to take America back. The culture, Jeff. And we are obligated to fight to take the culture back even if we have no chance of succeeding.

The political struggle is part of that.
