A Muslim to succeed Bolton?

The leading contender to succeed John Bolton as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Zalmay Khalilzad, is a Muslim.

A native of Afghanistan, he is said to be very much in Bolton's mold in terms of both toughness and diplomatic skill.

Dr. Khalilzad is currently the United States Ambassador to Iraq.
