Russian democracy in greater doubt than ever

Not only do his critics and enemies tend to die with disturbing regularity under incriminating circumstances, but Vladmir Putin will reportedly continue to share in Russia's leadership after leaving the presidency.

Apparently he will seek to attain some leadership role other than the presidency by constitutional means. Still, when the guy in charge won't go away when his term is over, it's not a healthy sign.
