Don't look now, Democrats, but your whole premise is in danger!

Michael O'Hanlon, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, and Kenneth Pollack, the director of the Saban Center for Mid-East Policy at Brookings, have just done a very interesting op-ed piece for the New York Times.

Both have been critics of the war. Now, having closely examined the situation on the ground, they conclude that it isn't at all impossible that we might yet win it- and that, in any case, American troops need to stick around at least into next year.

O'Hanlon and Pollack suggest a reason for all the doom 'n' gloom from the Democrats concerning the surge: they just aren't paying attention.

Meanwhile, Michael Barone parses the very article linked to above, and sums it up very nicely for all those inattentive Lefties: Don't look now, but the surge is working.
