Here come the Cubs!

While it's usually tough for a Cubs fan like me to root for the Cardinals, I did it this weekend. And it paid off!

With the double St. Louis victory over Milwaukee, and Cub ace Carlos Zambrano's customary masterpiece against the Reds, the Good Guys are now a mere half game out of first place in the NL Central.

The Cards are close enough that I foresee a three team race the rest of the way. But especially if Jim Hendry can manage to land some bullpen help, I can't see any reason why the Cubs can't beat the Goat this season- a full year before the centennial of our last world championship.
