What's this? Perspective from Wonkette?
The Stump believes that this is yet another of the daily hit pieces on Fred Thompson we've been seeing recently. Personally- as revolting as Wonkette is- I think it's meant to be satire. I really don't think those charges in the latter part of the story could be taken seriously even by a partisan Democrat during, shall we say, a full moon (they include a suggestion that FDT is a closet werewolf).
In fact, my conclusion is that Wonkette intends to satirizing the Thompson bashing. But with Wonkette, who knows?
One thing is sure: Hillary isn't undergoing an onslaught like this. Neither is Barak Obama. Neither is John Edwards. Neither are Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani (bashing poor John McCain, of course, would be like kicking a cripple).
Somebody is awfully afraid of Fred Thompson- and apparently even Wonkette is amused by the result.

Is "gay" really considered a morally repugnant label for the leftists to use?
Is such a tactic analogous to a conservative blogsite calling a liberal politician a "commie"? Or do they think most Republicans rely on leftwing blogsites for advice on GOP presidential candidates?
