Remember those controversial TV ads with Michael J. Fox urging us to kill human embroyos in order to find a cure for Parkinson's?

The issue is passe. Scientists have found a way to use adult stem cells for the same purposes- leaving the donors alive and well.

The impact on the 2008 race remains to be seen.
