Early returns from New Hampshire
The polls in New Hampshire have been closed for an hour now, and from early indications at least the Democratic race may be an entirely different animal than the pollsters and the pundits predicted.
With 9.3% if the vote now counted, Hillary Clinton is narrowly leading Barak Obama, 37% to 36%. John Edwards has 16%, Bill Richardson, 4%, and Dennis Kucinich, 2%.
In the Republican race, only 8.97% of the vote is in. John McCain is maintaining a healthy 37%-28% lead over Mitt Romney, with Mike Huckabee firmly in third place, with 12%.
Huckabee is followed by Rudy Giuliani, with 9%; Ron Paul, with 8%; and Fred Thompson-who is campaigning in South Carolina tonight- with 1%.
It's still early, but things are looking a great deal better right now for Hillary than for Mitt Romney.
