Romney pulls ads in South Carolina, Florida

With his political career on the line in Michigan next week, Mitt Romney is pulling all of his ads in South Carolina and Florida, and pouring all available resources into a last stand in Great Lakes country.

If Mike Huckabee or John McCain wins in Michigan, you can stick the proverbial fork in Mitt.

For about 24 hours, before I began hearing Thompson rumors.

Mitt was never going to leave the race if he lost the third Primary in the race... especially since his campaign had and has the most money. He's got cash to burn.

Most campaigns had to make early wins to shore up money problems and accelerate fund raising processes. Capital isn't an issue for Mitt Romney. It never was.

Any candidate who had the fiscal capacity to stay in the race until Super Tuesday would. Frankly I suspect that most of the reason that Fred Thompson dropped out is because of his mother. On the other hand he made a bet about money and momentum and "Dropping out" is Bill Macy's winning move. I cannot say. I can say that Mitt Romney doesn't have to drop out even after Super Tuesday.... although Florida isn't an issue for Mitt. Super Tuesday really would the the red line.
