Make no mistake: El Jefe is still in charge
Reports of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro's retirement are very premature.
Dictators- especially those as soaked in blood as el Jefe- don't just "retire." And they don't just fade away. Fidel will continue to pull many of the strings, even at 81, on his 76 year-old brother and "successor," Raul- and nothing much will change.
Until the day- God speed it!- when their vicious regime crumbles, and Cuba is free again.
And neither of them will survive that day by much. Dictators tend not to survive when oppressed people reclaim their freedom.
