Charlton Heston is gathered to his fathers

Charlton Heston, who was famous for his portrayal of Moses in The Ten Commandments and of Ben-Hur in the film of the same name, is dead at 84.

Mr. Heston was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease several years ago. A graduate of Northwestern University, he met the NU football carrying a staff and led them through a machine-generated purple fog into the Promised Land of Pasadena the year they went to the Rose Bowl.

Too bad USC's defensive line wasn't parted a few more times in that game.
