Clarence Page turns racism into a joke
Read and chuckle as the Chicago Tribune's Clarence Page tries to persuade is that "arrogant" (as in Barak Obama) is really a racist code word for "uppity," and that "skinny" (heaven help us!) is really a racist code for "African American."
Racism is anything but funny. But the long-expected (and indignantly denied) Obamaphile strategy of seeing anything vaguely related to opposition to Barack Obama's candidacy as somehow "racist" nevertheless threatens to turn an extraordinarily ugly thing into a source of mirth.
This stuff just can't be taken seriously.
