Yes, Virginia. Barack Obama IS a radical!
I have no reason to doubt Barack Obama's explanations of his motivations in voting some of the strange ways he has during his career. There is nothing wrong with Obama trying to explain those motivations.
But explaining his motivations is a different thing from denying the facts.
The fact is that, whatever his motivations, Barack Obama helped kill a bill in the Illinois Senate requiring doctors to work to keep babies who survive attempted abortions alive. He says that he would have voted for it if it had contained language similar to that in a Federal law making it clear that it did not challenge Roe v. Wade.
In fact, the bill was amended to insert precisely that language- and he voted against it anyway.
Obama- a strong supporter of partial birth abortion, who cannot even affirm the scientific fact that life begins with cell division parallel processes virtually coincident with conception- has an established record as a pro-choice extremist even among Democrats. That doesn't change no matter what his motivations in helping to kill the Born Alive act in Illinois.
And the fact is that Obama did vote to replace an Illinois sex education law containing this language:
with another one which replaced that language with the following:
Strictly speaking, no, that law did not mandate sex education in kindergarten.
It merely mandated the content of sex education in kindergarten.
When John McCain called him to account for his support of these changes, Obama said the bill was only to prevent "inappropriate touching." And if the criticisms leveled against Obama on the matter aren't entirely honest, neither has his response to that criticism- or the defenses of his vote either by the MSM, or by the candidate himself.
Barack Obama seems to be benefiting greatly from a media so sympathetic that they even call John McCain a liar for accurately pointing out Obama's radical record. By all means, let Obama explain his record as he chooses. By all means let him correct any omissions or misrepresentations of the facts
But there is no excuse for letting him get away with denying the facts.

[Classes] shall emphasize that abstinence is the expected norm in that abstinence from sexual intercourse is the only protection that is 100 percent effective against unwanted teenage pregnancy [and] sexually transmitted diseases
with another one which replaced that language with the following:
Each class or course in comprehensive sex education in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV.and
