Poll: Obama voters uninformed
Wondering what impact the unprecedented and universally-acknowledged media bias in favor of Barack Obama had on the recent election? Check this out:
Commissioned by a filmmaker doing a documentary on the impact of pro-Obama bias in the media, one of America's best pollsters- John Zogby- conducted a twelve question post-election poll of Obama voters to find out just how familiar they were with "statements and scandals" associated with the two tickets.
Only 54% of Obama voters got at least half of the questions right. Only two percent got a perfect score.
57% of Obama voters were unaware that the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress.
Only 27% knew that Obama had won his first election by getting all of his opponents thrown off the ballot. Only 22% correctly associated Obama with the admission that his policies would probably bankrupt the coal industry. Only 44% were aware that Obama held a fundraiser in his first political campaign at the home of former Weather Underground members Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn. Only 28% knew that Vice-President-elect Biden had been forced out of a previous presidential bid by a scandal involving plagiarism.
Conversely, 86% knew about Sarah Palin's $150,000 wardrobe. 81% correctly identified John McCain as the candidate who was unable to specify how many houses he owned. 87% identified Sarah Palin as the candidate who allegedly claimed an ability to see Russia from her house as a foreign policy qualification (though frequently predicated of Palin, the statement is actually part of a comedy routine done by Saturday Night Live Palin-impersonator Tina Fey).
Incredibly, supporters of the president-elect have accused Zogby of doing a push-poll- a "poll" which seeks to influence votes by asking potential voters' reaction to hypothetical (and false) information about a candidate.
Even if the information in question were false- and it is not- it's hard to see how it's possible to influence a vote that was cast two weeks before the poll was taken!
