The sole of Iraq- or only an isolated heel?

Toby Harnden of The Telegraph asks a fair question: what would have happened had reporter Muthathar al-Zaidi of Baghdadiya thrown his shoes at Saddam Hussein?

The ingratitude of so many Iraqis is astounding. If a bloodbath ensues as a result of our premature departure from Iraq, it will be a tragedy the Iraqi people as a whole simply do not deserve.

For some, though it would be exactly what they deserve.
