Pro-life Democrats appear likely to win battle to exclude abortion from health care bill

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi appears to be ready to cave in to demands by about a dozen pro-life Democrats (yes, those critters do exist) that any health care reform bill passed by Congress not include Federal funding for abortions.

I must say that the backbone- and effectiveness- of those who stand where I once stood when I was a Democrat opposed to abortion on demand has made me feel better about the Democratic party as a whole than I have in years. Three cheers for the pro-life Blue Dogs!
