Excuse me. Who is a 'hate group?'

The increasingly totalitarian rhetoric and tactics of the Cultural Left- from self-impressed denizens of Hollywood to big-city mayors- is a fascinating phenomenon. James Antle is right: by any reasonable definition, the Cultural Left- emphatically including those advocating the legalization of same-sex "marriage-" are becoming more and more to resemble a classic example of precisely what they claim cultural conservatives are: a hate group.

How else to describe people who are unwilling or unable to discuss their disagreements with others on the merits, and instead attack their motives and persons, seeking to marginalize, demonize and discredit those whom they cannot meet in fair debate?

"Hate" is an ugly word, and an uglier reality. And it is never more ugly than when the word "hate" is itself used as a weapon and instrument of hate.
