Listening to Rick Santorum with foaming mouth

Sometimes- well, often- the things the Left say are so hysterical, over-the-top, and generally ridiculous that they don't need to be responded to. They are their own rebuttal.

I guess the zany Right does, too. But they don't dominate the media. On the other hand, no matter how reasonable and rational a statement made by a conservative might be, it seldom lacks somebody on the Left to respond to it with indignant- and wholly inappropriate- outrage.

This is an example of the phenomenon. It's a response to Rick Santorum's speech to the RNC last night.

I heard that speech, and I don't think anybody but a malicious fanatic could hear it as either "dishonest" or as "race-baiting."

Racism is an ugly thing. Unfortunately, the word is so overused by the Left that it's losing its impact. They need to knock it off, and start using the word appropriately and responsibly. Not every argument that causes a liberal to sputter is "racist." And it certainly doesn't need to be dishonest to have that effect.

If anything, the opposite is more likely.
