ONE GOAL! Fun and Frolik in Detroit

O, me of little faith!

Just like everyone else, I'd written the Blackhawks off after they went down 3 games to 1 to the Octopus Brigade. But they came back stormnig Saturday night and thrashed Detroit 4 to 1. And last night, down by a goal in the third period, they scored three times to beat the Wings 4 to 3, tie the series at three games each, and force a Game Seven at the UC tomorrow night.

Turns out they needed Michael Frolik's penalty shot goal that made it 4-2. Marian Hossa- in a situation in which the Hawks had a two-goal lead and merely had to kill off a couple of minutes to be certain of victory- took a totally inexplicable penalty, giving the Wings a power play on which Damien Brunner cut the margin to one goal- and created at least the potential for some drama.

But the Hawks and Corey Crawford stood firm, and now they're only one game from the Western Conference Finals.

CHELSEA DAGGER, BABY!
