Abraham Lincoln wrote, "I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong." That means putting country ahead of party and conscience ahead of conformity. And that is why I am a FORMER Republican.
Derek Rishmawy herein spells out for today's theologically illiterate Man on the Street (and especially the theologically illiterate neo-atheist critics of orthodox Christianity) a rather important point: "total depravity" does not mean that we are all little Hitlers and John Wayne Gacys.
It means that the moral reflection of God's goodness in our hearts is distorted in every aspect.
God kinda sets the bar rather high, goodness-wise.
