Abraham Lincoln wrote, "I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live by the light that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and part with him when he goes wrong." That means putting country ahead of party and conscience ahead of conformity. And that is why I am a FORMER Republican.
All of us but the most hopelessly deluded realize by now that the institution of marriage is in serious trouble. I am one of those who expects homosexual pseudo-marriage to be the institution's coup de grace. Unstable and non-monogamous "marriages" are not going to help the institution survive, the disingenuous arguments of the Left to the contrary.
