Study: too many studies are being done

Scholars in Finland and California have published a study that points out a problem facing contemporary scientists: too many studies are being done.

This is the sort of thing you expect from the Federal government, not from the academy. From the Academy, you expect protests that not enough of the studies are female, transgendered, gay or Marxist.
