Cue the music from 'Evita'

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the front-runner to succeed John Boehner as Speaker, has withdrawn from the race. Boenher says that he will stay on until the chaos subsides and a new speaker can be elected.

So who now? Trey Gowdy? Paul Ryan? Daniel Webster?

Yes, that's really his name.

Jason Chavez? Peter Roskam? Jeb Hensarling? Steve Scalise? Patrick McHenry? That last one is almost as good as Daniel Webster.

Rep. Peter King (R-NY) calls the GOP caucus "Total confusion- a banana republic." Juan Peron, perhaps? Nah. Too far left. And Augusto Pinochet is dead....

It reminds me of Scripture- specifically, Acts 19:32 (NIV): "The assembly was in confusion: Some were shouting one thing, some another. Most of the people did not even know why they were there."
