Guess what? Donald Trump's nutty and erratic rhetoric, blatant ignorance, and boorish, mindless bluster are now "Jacksonian Populism," and the assorted extremists who form the core of his support are now the "radical Middle."
No, conservatives (and Americans who believe in our national ideals whatever ideological label they may wear) do not need to "come to terms" with what Trump represents. They need to defeat it.
It is evil and does not deserve to be dressed up in respectable terms, historical or otherwise.
Not that Andy Jackson was all that respectable in some ways. After all, he's to blame for the Democratic party.
