Vlad is The Donald's friend. But is he ours? Is The Donald ours?

Vladimir Putin has once again lauded both the decline of American power in the world due to American "mistakes" and Donald Trump's policy of making nice-nice toward Russia.

And yet the very people who jumped out of their skins with outrage when Barack Obama bowed to the Emperor of Japan see nothing wrong with a consistent policy of subservience to a foreign strongman who wishes the United States ill.

The Trump administration has shaken my confidence in the common sense of many on the right in various and sundry ways. But that bothers me considerably more than the degree to which it's shaken my confidence in their integrity. Is beating the Democrats and the liberals really more important than putting the national interests of the United States ahead of Russia's? Or is it just that their allegiance to their principles is so plastic?
