Now it looks like RUSSIA is trying to dig up dirt on Hunter Biden!
This is going to read like a bad comedy in the history books.
It seems that the Russian military has hacked into the Ukrainian gas company Bursima, on whose board Hunter Biden served.
It appears that the Russians (you know, the ones whose secret police our president gives more credibility than the CIA and the FBI and who didn't collude with the Trump campaign before interfering on Donald Fredovich's behalf with our 2016 election despite half his campaign staff being under indictment or in prison for lying about contacts with them and whose interests the president whose shady contacts and huge investments in Russia is not putting before America's while he sings love songs to their authoritarian leader) is trying to dig up dirt on the son of Mr. Trump's likely 2020 opponent, just like the most openly corrupt president in our history tried to pressure the Ukrainians into doing in that famous "perfect" telephone call.
Meanwhile, Senate supporters of the president who won't release his income tax returns (allegedly for reasons the IRS says are bogus and which didn't stop Richard Nixon from doing so), and who stonewalls investigations into is behavior rather trying to clear his name (but not because he has anything to hide) want to prevent documents from being introduced into evidence and witnesses from testifying.
But not because he has anything to fear from what they might say.
The Trump base is badly-informed and not inclined to even consider facts if they get in the way of its prejudices and conspiracy theories. The broader and more numerous class of Trump supporters are concerned less with facts or even their own professed principles (on free trade and integrity in government and the Bill of Rights, for example) than with "sticking it to the libs." There are a lot of bright and generally decent people in politics and the media who for one reason or another bought a ticket on the Trump Train and now, like the lady who rode the tiger, realize that no there's no way to get off, or who are simply too proud to admit that they were conned.
There are even a lot of evangelical Christians who- God knows how- have concluded that Mr. Trump's position of convenience on abortion and judges and social issues somehow justifies making a corrupt, mean-spirited bully the face of Jesus Christ to people whom they supposedly want to reach with the Gospel.
But the amount of either gullibility or willful self-deception necessary not to see through this president is incredible. I find it incredible, but I have no doubt that after the open farce of an impeachment trial ahead of us so many will still be able to miss the fact that for the most part, innocent people don't stonewall when they're accused of something. They try to demonstrate that they are innocent rather than whining that they're being picked on while doing their best to keep everything hushed up.
Unless the Democrats do something stupid like nominating Bernie Sanders, I find it impossible to believe that the obviously rigged trial is not going to seal Donald Fredovich's fate come November. Every time he's accused of anything, Donald Trump can be counted on to do everything possible to make himself look guilty
The American people are not blithering idiots. Sooner or later the pattern is going to become so clear to so many people that The Donald won't be able to hide behind people's fear and prejudice and willful ignorance anymore.
