Happy birthday, Abe.
Some of us are trying to arrange a party for you. After all, you haven't had one for four years.
Some suggest that we call it "the Integrity Party." Some offer "the Center-Right Party." Personally, I favor "the Lincoln Party." It kind of sets out what we aspire to be, what the Democrats are too wild-eyed to be, and what the Republicans have ceased to have any interest in being.
The party may well be modeled on the New York Conservative Party, which often nominates another party's candidate when that seems advisable but can run one of its own if necessary. This would avoid the only real objection I see to a new centrist party: its danger of splitting the anti-Trumpist vote.
Either way, it would be nice to have a party a guy could belong to without either being a defender of the idiotic notion that abortion is health care or a wild-eyed, pro- insurrection conspiracy theorist.
