Is hockey coming out of deep freeze?

I sure hope so!

With plenty of room under the proposed salary cap, "Dollar Bill" Wirtz- the Blackhawks'...er, frugal owner- has fired chronically ineffective crony Bob Pulford as GM and replaced him with Dale Tallon.

Tallon, in turn, has fired coach Brian Sutter. Trent Yawney, the gifted coach of the Hawks' AHL affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals, is the leading contender to succeed him.

It's been a long time since we've had good news about the Hawks, but at least at the moment things appear to be looking up!
