Second stem cell alternative a dud- but not the first!
Turns out that the second "viable" theraputic alternative to embryonic stem cells I blogged about last Monday is, in fact, no particular alternative at all- viable or otherwise.
This should be distinguished from the first such alternative I blogged on earlier this month: amniotic epithelial cells, recently discovered by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh to be able to mimic the ability of fetal stem cells to develop into various types of human tissue.
