Democratic House votes to raise prices at the gas pump

The House has passed legislation which would grant tax breaks for energy conservation and renewable energy sources- but which would effectively raise taxes on oil companies.

How much of what we pay per gallon at the gas pump goes to pay taxes as it is? An expert I heard interviewed on the radio this morning suggested 36 cents.
