...and John Murtha stands by his smear of Marines exonerated in Haditha incident
Meanwhile, Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa) is standing by his smear of Marines he accused of murdering innocent civilians in the Haditha incident.
Murtha and others (including the NCIS) initially said that the Marines- all but one of whom have been subsequently exonerated, and one of whom is suing Murtha for slander- simply ran amok, breaking down doors and murdering Iraqi civilians in cold blood. Upon further investigation,the incident turned out to be a legitimate firefight which occured when the Americans walked into an insurgent trap. The civilian casualties were caught in the middle.
Murtha apparently has yet to get the memo.
