Dead goldfish sent voter registration materials in suburban Chicago

For the dead to vote is not particularly unusual in Chicago, hometown to both Barack Obama and yours truly. So it is by no means a surprise the late Princess Nudelman received has been sent voter registration materials by a group which has previously- but not presently- cooperated with the notorious ACORN in voter registration efforts.

Nevertheless, election officials in Lake County-the highly Republican juristiction where the late Ms. Nudelman once resided- took special notice of this particuar incident.

Princess Nudelman, you see, was a goldfish.

Turns out that there was nothing fishy about the incident, however. The late Ms. Nudelman's landlord, Obama supporter Beth Nudelman, used Princess's name when she arranged for a second telephone line to accomodate her home computer- and the "Women's Voices- Women's Vote" campaign to register single women apparently got her name from the phone company.

Since the fish was indeed unmarried, all of this is quite understandable.
