Bazinga!

Mitt Romney was really dumb to allow Brian Wiliams to goad him into criticizing the security preparations for the London Olympics, especially on a foreign tour designed to establish his foreign policy credentials. It was the kind of statement we'd expect from somebody in his opponent's administration.

But I have to admire one other Romney moment in that interview. Referring to an alleged quote from an anonymous Romney advisor to the effect that President Obama "doesn't understand Anglo-Saxon values-" a quasi-racist remark whose genuineness I personally doubt- Williams began, "I know how much you love quoting unnamed Romney advisers.” However, Williams continued, he had heard from another such anonymous source in the Romney campaign that the prospective Republican nominee was looking for a "boring white guy" to be his running-mate.

Romney's response? “You told me you were not available.”
