Like David Cameron, Theresa May is no real conservative
Sadly, it's clear from the first statement of the UK's new Prime Minister, Theresa May, that Britain, like Canada, no longer has a truly conservative party. Her mischaracterization of same-sex "marriage" as a matter of social justice makes it clear that Britain's "Conservatives' have little interest in standing for the legal and moral traditions of the Anglo-Saxon world or of Western civilization. The new PM, like the old one, is willing to be complicit in the destruction of the most basic institution of that civilization.
Conservatives stand for the virtues of tradition and the proven values of history. In neither the UK nor in Canada can the party which bears that bears that name honestly claim to do so.
Tragic, but such are the times in which we live.
