All hail our beneficent Leader!

Mr. Trump is, of course, constitutionally (excuse the expression) unable to ever admit being wrong, so when his staff did what it has to do constantly and convinced him not to destroy himself, he couldn't simply admit that the president and the Federal government have no authority in the internal affairs of the states after all unless the states drop the ball so seriously as to endanger the constitutional rights of its citizens.

No, he had to continue to insist that the president has "total authority" over when individual states re-open their economies for business- but generously announce that he has deigned to authorize the fifty governors to do what they didn't need his permission for in the first place as they pleased.

Nice of him, I suppose.
